Robert Plant
Robert Anthony Plant CBE was born on August 20, 1948, in England. He is an English singer and songwriter who had great success with Led Zeppelin throughout the 1970s and cultivated a captivating image as the charismatic rock-and-roll front man, much like his contemporaries Roger Daltrey of the Who, Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, and Freddie Mercury of Queen. From the rock group Led Zeppelin's foundation in 1968 until its dissolution in 1980, he served as lead singer and lyricist. Since then, he has enjoyed success as a solo artist, occasionally working with other musicians like Alison Krauss. Many people consider him to be one of the best rock singers ever. He is well-known for his flashy stage presence and unpolished performances.
Much like his peers Freddie Mercury of Queen, Jim Morrison of the Doors, Roger Daltrey of the Who, and Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, Plant established a compelling image as the charismatic rock-and-roll front man, as he had tremendous success with Led Zeppelin throughout the 1970s. With his mane of long blond hair and powerful, bare-chested appearance, Plant contributed to the creation of the "god of rock and roll" or "rock god" archetype. Plant was especially animated when performing live; he would frequently dance, leap, skip, snap his fingers, clap, fling back his head, make forceful movements to highlight a line or cymbal boom, or place his hands on his hips. He and the other members of Led Zeppelin became more and more showy as the 1970s went on with their clothing and accessories.
Alison Krauss
Born on July 23, 1971, Alison Maria Krauss is an American fiddler and bluegrass-country singer. She started her career in music at a young age, participating in local competitions by the time she was eight years old, and making her first recording at fourteen. Her debut solo album was published in 1987 after she signed with Rounder Records in 1985. After receiving an invitation to join Union Station, she performed with them ever since, releasing her first album with them as a group in 1989.
She claimed that her musical inspirations include J.D. Crowe, Ricky Skaggs, and Tony Rice. She is known for her melancholic compositions, which frequently discuss love, particularly lost love. Despite having a long career in music and a tight relationship with her ensemble, Krauss rarely plays her own compositions. In order to create a somewhat consistent theme and mood for the finished album, she has also stated that she usually starts with a single song and chooses other tracks based on it. She primarily performs in the bluegrass and country genres, though she has had two songs on the adult contemporary charts, has collaborated with rock musicians like Phish and Sting, and is occasionally said to move towards pop music.
