The String Cheese Incident is a fan favorite jam band which hails from Crested Butte and Telluride, Colorado. Created in 1993, the band is made up of the super talented Michael Kang (acoustic/electric mandolin, electric guitar, and violin), Michael Travis (drums and percussion), Bill Nershi (acoustic guitar, lap steel guitar, and electric slide guitar), Kyle Hollingsworth (piano, organ, Rhodes, and accordion), Keith Moseley (bass guitar), and Jason Hann (auxiliary percussion). By popular demand, The String Cheese Incident is returning to Vail this August!! The six piece are taking their first Incidents in the iconic Colorado mountain town. With this appearance being their first in Vail for almost two decades, you can imagine how fast tickets will sell out! For the highly anticipated return, the six piece is debuting at the stunning Gerald R. Ford with a two night show from August 8 to 9.
While The String Cheese Incident made a regular appearance in Vail in their early days, the band hasn’t been back since they made an iconic stop at Dobson Ice Arena in March 2007. Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, nicknamed The Amp, opened its doors in 1987, and hosts about 2,600 guests.
The String Cheese Incident has just announced a new run of tour dates this May. This marks their debut at multiple venues across the East Coast, Midwest, and Southern United States. The road trip will include stops at huge venues like Wilmington’s Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, where the band will perform 2 nights, as well as first-time appearances at The Amp, Steelhouse Omaha, Chesterfield’s The Factory STL, and Nashville’s Brown County Music Center.
The Wood Brothers will serve as openers in Raleigh, Charlotte, and Huber Heights. The event will be a warm up for their July 18 stop at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre with The String Cheese Incident.
The trek will wind down with a return to CaveJam in Pelham, Tennessee, where a special cave event will bring the leg to an underground-style finale.
