Gerald R Ford Amphitheater Rules
The Gerald R Ford Amphitheater prides itself on being a safe and relaxing place to enjoy a live concert/event. So please make yourself aware of the following rules before attending to ensure that fellow fans are not disrupted during the performance.
To make the most out of your visit to Gerald R Ford Amp, the venue has created the following set of policies and rules. Please take the time to read and understand these rules. Failure to abide by them may result in expulsion without refund or being banned. If you have any questions about these rules then please call the venue staff at 970.845.8497.
The Gerald R Ford Amphitheater implements rules and regulations to ensure that guests, staff, and performers have the best and safest experience possible. These rules are non-negotiable, so be sure that you have read them thoroughly before you attend an event.
Alcohol Policy
Alcohol purchases are only to be made to persons of age 21 or older. Alcoholic beverages are only for adults legally able to purchase them.
Bag Policy
All bags brought into the venue are subject to a search. Keep this in mind when you are packing your bag before attending an event.
The only bags that are not permitted within the venue are oversized ones. This includes large backpacks, duffle bags, or suitcases. You will not be allowed into the amphitheater if you try to bring a large bag onto the premises.

Code of conduct
The Gerald R Ford Amphitheater has a strict code of conduct that all guests must abide by when they enter the venue. This code ensures that attendees behave appropriately and reasonably at all times.
Not following the rules of this code could lead to ejection from the venue. If guests severely break the rules, they could be subject to arrest by the Vail Police or a temporary or permanent suspension from attending the venue.
The management team at The Amp will make the final decision when it comes to the code of conduct and any possible violations. Let’s take a closer look at the Gerald R Ford Amphitheater code of conduct:
» Guests should not disturb other guest’s enjoyment during an event.
» If a guest is ejected, they will not receive a refund or be compensated in any way.
» Guests must not enter a seating area, a disabled seating area, or a restricted area without the proper ticket or credentials.
» Failing to comply with instructions from the venue staff can result in ejection.
» Do not start fights or behave in a threatening manner.
» Do not taunt, harass, or use offensive language to any other person in the venue.
» Disorderly conduct will not be tolerated.
» Intoxication will not be tolerated.
» Do not sit in any seat without the correct ticket.
» Do not interfere with the performers or an event.
» Do not smoke inside the venue or anywhere that is not within the designated smoking areas.
» Do not discharge, throw, or toss items while in the venue.
» No standing on the seats, chairs, platforms, tables, or railings.
» Do not use profanity, offensive gestures, or offensive language.
» Do not violate any laws, including local, federal, and state laws.
» Management reserves the right to eject, relocate, or deny entry to any attendees if they are engaging in any kind of inappropriate behavior.
Weather Policy
The Gerald R Ford Amp stage and pavilion seating sections have a large roof protecting it from adverse weather. The Vail Valley is famous for afternoon and evening hit-and-run rain showers. Weather is generally not a factor for most shows. You might want to check weather forecasts prior to attending a show at the venue..
Permitted Items
Certain items are permitted within the amphitheater, while other items are not. Let’s first take a look at what you are allowed to bring into the venue when attending an event.
» Guests are allowed to bring food into the venue so long as it is done within venue bag policies
» Personal sized coolers (No larger than 18qt)
» Please be prepared to show all items stored.
» Empty Water bottles
» Non-alcoholic, commercially-sealed beverages
» Blankets or Tarps (No larger than 5’x7′)
» Umbrellas
» Chairs to sit on the lawn. These must be short-legged chairs and cannot be any more than 5 inches off the ground. Check out the example list of permitted and prohibited chairs allowed in the venue.
» Outside food, but it must be brought inside in a bag that abides by the bag policy.
» Personal-sized coolers that are no larger than 18 quarts (be prepared to show staff at the venue what is inside the cooler when you enter).
» Tarps or blankets that are no larger than 5 inches by 7 inches.
» Strollers, but there are rules surrounding their use. You cannot take a stroller to your seat. There is parking for strollers along the wall adjacent to the main restrooms. However, stroller parking is limited.
» Umbrellas.
Limited stroller parking is available along the wall adjacent to the main restrooms. You will not be able to take your stroller to your seat. The Amp is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
If you ride your bike, there is a small public bike rack located across from the box office near the creek. Bike Valet may be available.
Gates to the venue open one hour prior to showtime unless otherwise printed on your ticket.
Prohibited Items
The following items are not allowed inside the venue. If you violate these rules, you will be subject to removal from the event. Your items will also be subject to confiscation.
» Alcohol.
» Animals or pets that are not service animals.
» Any kind of weapons, with or without a permit.
» Bags that do not abide by the aforementioned bag policy.
» Bicycles are not allowed in the venue, but they can be stored at the public bike rack, found near the creek across from the box office. Bike Valet services are sometimes available.
» Cameras (see below for specifics).
» Cigarettes.
» Confetti.
» Fireworks.
» Flares.
» Full facial coverings such as ski masks or Halloween masks.
» Glitter.
» Hammocks.
» Hula hoops.
» In-line skates.
» Lawn chairs that do not abide by the chair police. See the examples here.
» Laser pointers or laser pens.
» Noise-making devices such as bullhorns, drums, air horns, and whistles.
» Personalized motorized vehicles that are not ADA-approved.
» Recording devices(see below for specifics).
» Skateboards.
» Spray paint.
» Silly string.
» Tarps or blankets that are larger than 5 inches by 7 inches.
» Tents.
» Totems, flags, self-crafted decorated sticks or poles, or anything of this nature that could block the views of other guests.
» UAVs, drones, or any other kind of remote-controlled flying device.
» Vape pens.
» Any other item deemed as inappropriate by management
When it comes to recording at The Amp, the venue has a strict no audio or video capture policy that applies to major events. Professionals who wish to capture audio, video, or images can do so by applying for a credential, which can be done online.
This does not apply to spectators who are attending a graduation ceremony. In this case, cameras and recording devices of any kind are welcome and allowed to be used.
Refund Policy
All ticket sales are final. No refunds or exchanges.
